I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I wanted to update our membership with a few important dates and activities that are in the works for Heritage Assembly.
The Heritage Wine and Cheese Social at the Cleburne Links was such a success the Executive Board decided that we should have another social for the members to visit and have some fun! June Bates has offered to open her lovely home to Heritage Assembly once again, but this night will be for some action in Brad and June's fabulous game room. Please join us Thursday, February 24, from 6pm to 8pm for a game of billiards, a slide of the puck on the shuffleboard or talking some trash over the air hockey table! Bring your spouse or a friend to enjoy some friendly games, food and drink and see just how good Steve and I are at shuffleboard. Yes, that is a challenge to anyone willing...
Heritage Assembly, for the second year, was asked by the Carnegie Players to use their final dress rehearsal as a fundraiser for our group. The play was very well received and Heritage Assembly was able to add to the monies that will be disbursed in May 2011. Carnegie Players is one of the groups receiving funds from Heritage Assembly this year and are such an asset to our arts community in Johnson County.
I would like to provide everyone with some updates on the First Annual Heritage Assembly Golf Classic! The tournament is schedule at the Cleburne Golf Links for Friday April 29, 2011, the day before the Ball. Enclosed is the registration sheet, which will be openly advertised beginning January 30. If you are interested in playing or forming a team to try to win the "Hole In One Truck" donated by Cleburne Ford, please send your form in as quickly as possible. We already have teams lined up waiting for registration and wish to thank James Hardie Building Products and Wal-Mart Distribution for being Master Level Sponsors for the event.
The Special Gifts Tickets that we sell to the community as part of our fundraising will be distributed in March to each member; prize drawing will be April 28. The Heritage Assembly Ball will be held April 30 at the Cleburne Conference Center. Kayce Suitt and her committee are still keeping the theme under wraps, but I know that it will be beautiful as always. There will be Casino Gaming at this year's ball, so plan to throw some dice or hit a blackjack to qualify for some great prizes. Music will be provided by Dallas Unlimited, a well-known party band from the Metroplex, wear those dancing shoes to dance the night away.
All Committees are working hard to make funding this year to our designated charities a success. We are close to the million-dollar mark in funds returned to Johnson County and this could not have been accomplished without forty-five years of membership and commitment from women like you. Thank you all for fulfilling your desire to help our community through Heritage Assembly. I look forward to seeing you at the Heritage Assembly Game Night at June's home and at the upcoming 45th Heritage Assembly Ball!
All of my love and dedication,
